Application for the Research Fund for Young Researchers under Global COE Program

  1. AIM OF THE RESEARCH FUND
    The purpose of this research fund is to provide opportunities for young researchers to conduct research within the scope of the Global COE Program: “International Urban Earthquake Engineering Center for Mitigating Seismic Mega Risk”. 

  2. NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS TO BE AWARDED
    - Up to twenty (20)

  3. ELIGIBILITY
    Persons who wish to apply for this Research Fund must be students of a doctoral course in one of the five departments of the Global COE Program, OR a postdoctoral fellow or young researcher in one of these departments.  The applicant must be able and willing to conduct research related to the Global COE Program: “International Urban Earthquake Engineering Center for Mitigating Seismic Mega Risk”.  Those receiving aid from another source or grant for the same research theme are excluded from applying for Global COE Research Fund for Young Researchers.

  4. AMOUNT OF RESEARCH FUND
    Up to 1,500,000 JPY

  5. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
    Applications for this Research Fund must be submitted to one of the two offices indicated below.

    Materials to be prepared by the applicant:
    (1) Application Form (YGE) to be filled in and signed by the applicant
    (2) Any related additional documents relevant to support of the intended research
    (3) A PDF-file of (1) and (2): submit to apply@cuee.titech.ac.jp

    If you are currently being aided by another research fund, please inform us of the name, research topic, and amount of support furnished.  Candidates NOT applying at the same time for a Postdoctoral Fellowship or position of Research Assistant under the Global COE Program, please submit a list of their research achievements.

  6. APPLICATION DEADLINE
    - Applicant working or studying at TITECH in FY 2008: The deadline for application is Feb. 27th, 2009, until 5pm (JST).
    - Applicant who has not been enrolled or employed at TITECH in FY 2008: We will continue to receive applications until all positions are filled.

  7. SELECTION PROCESS
    After documentary screening and interview, the applicant will be informed directly of his/ her result.
