Application for Postdoctoral Fellowship under Global COE Program

  1. OUTLINE OF THE FELLOWSHIP
    The purpose of this fellowship is to provide opportunities for young postdoctoral researchers to conduct research related to the Global COE Program "International Urban Earthquake Engineering Center for Mitigating Seismic Mega Risk".

  2. NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS AWARDED
    - 6

  3. APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
    The applicant must hold a doctoral degree when the Fellowship goes into effect, and is able to conduct research related to the Global COE Program "International Urban Earthquake Engineering Center for Mitigating Seismic Mega Risk".

  4. DURATION AND TERMS OF FELLOWSHIPS
    - 2008 Recruitment: From Oct. 1st, 2008 (or earliest possible time) to March 31st, 2009.
    - Contract may be extended on a yearly basis by the end of the fiscal year of 2012 (March, 2013).
    - Working condition is 40 hours/week or 30 hours/week.
    - The amount of the fellowship will be based on our university's regulation (about 300,000-600,000    yen/month depending on quality of research proposal and research achievement).
     
  5. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
    Applications for this program must be submitted to one of the offices indicated below.
    Materials to be prepared by the applicant and submitted to the office:
    1. Application Form (PD) to be filled in by applicant
    2. Letter of recommendation
    3. A PDF-file of the application form (to be sent to apply@cuee.titech.ac.jp)

  6. APPLICATION DEADLINE
    - The deadline of application is August 25th, 2008, till 5pm (JST).
    If the positions are not filled by the deadline, we will continue receiving application until the positions are filled. Please contact the CUEE office for further information.

  7. SELECTION PROCESS
    After documentary screening and interview, the applicant will be informed of the final result directly.
